What's the difference between Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Gemini?
They're three separate things, although Google is increasingly starting to integrate them. AI Overviews (or commonly abbreviated to AIOs) are the AI-generated summaries that appear at the top of a normal Google search results page. AI Mode meanwhile is the dedicated conversational AI search experience accessible from within Google Search. Gemini is Google's standalone LLM, used via its own API. Archytas AISpy tracks all three.
Do I need a Google API key to track AI Overviews or AI Mode?
No - you need DataForSEO API credentials, not a Google key. AI Overviews and AI Mode aren't exposed through an official Google API, so AISpy uses DataForSEO as the data source.
