Frequently Asked Questions

What do you mean by 'Bring your own API keys?'

To track visibility in an LLM, you'll need the relevant API keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or Perplexity. For AI Mode and AI Overviews, Archytas AISpy integrates with DataForSEO's APIs in order to gather data at scale.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All tracking data and API keys are stored locally on your machine. We do not have access to your keys, prompts, or the data you collect. The only thing we collect is a single anonymous analytics event when you open the application, which we use to track daily/weekly/monthly average user figures.

Why is Archytas AISpy free?

The honest answer - Archytas is a young company, and this is good, old fashioned linkbait. We're still old school SEO's at heart. Also there's a 'Message of the Day' box at the bottom that we can push messages into, and we won't be shy about using to promote our more commercially minded ideas. That's it, that's the secret 5d chess plan. There's no weird device spying, it's not secretly mopping up your prompts or collecting information, and there's no hidden bitcoin miner buried in it.

What is the difference between website AI tracking and language AI tracking?

Website AI tracking monitors whether your URLs are cited in LLM responses. But users are less likely to click links in an LLM than a traditional search, so Archytas AISpy includes functionality to tracking specific language footprints so you can see who - and what - else AI is saying. Look for mentions of your brand name, your products, your people.

How many websites or brands can I track in AI?

As many as you want. That's the advantage of a tool that runs locally vs in the cloud, there's no artificial limits beyond your hard disk.

Can I integrate Archytas AISpy with my analytics?

While there's no out-the-box analytics tie-in functionality, Archytas AISpy does contain functionality for scheduled spreadsheet exports. And for those who are happy getting into a bit of SQL, you can connect to Archytas AISpy's underlying SQLite database

What happens when new LLM AI Models are released?

The settings pane has a control that refreshes the model list from each provider, so when GPT9.8 Unhinged releases, you'll still be good to go.

What does the 'followon question' functionality do?

For each prompts response, you can then ask an AI model a followup question. Classify it's sentiment. Ask it to extract all the brands. Turn it into a Haiku - whatever you need to turn data into meaning. And you can choose different models independently, so you can query a lower cost or local model with a simpler question

Is there MCP support?

Not yet. It's on the roadmap!

How frequently should I run AISpy to get accurate visibility trends?

It depends on your campaign objective. If you're tracking AI visibility over a live event or during a big product launch, you may want to track every couple of minutes. If you're in a relatively slow moving sector like many B2B areas, monthly might well be enough. There's no prompt limit on AISpy, although the more frequently you run it the higher the token bill to the LLMs themselves will be.

Do I need API keys for all the LLMs mentioned, or can I track just some of them?

You can track as many or as few as you want. If you only want to track ChatGPT, you only need an API key from OpenAI.
